Villages and places
Randaberg
Did you know that 80% of Norway's parsley production takes place in Randaberg? Norway's smallest mainland municipality (in acreage) is also known as "the green village", with long traditions in agriculture.
In Randaberg, land, sky and sea meet at the northern tip of Jæren. The municipality has long been best known as an agricultural municipality. In summer, there are plenty of local vegetables, eggs, flowers and more to be found at the local Farmer's market, and the Royal family's first fresh potatoes of the year are often delivered from Randaberg. In the centre, you can find several speciality shops and a coffee shop.
The cave Vistehola (Svarthola) is one of the most important tourist attractions in the municipality. Traces of settlement from 6,000 years BC have been found here. Vistegutten, Norway's best-preserved Stone Age skeleton, was found here. It is exhibited at the Archaeological Museum in Stavanger.
