This roundtrip is 35 km long and a bit more challenging. One of the first sections of the trip is rather steep and the total elevation is 700 metres. The route is mainly covered in asphalt but includes a minor section of gravel road.

This trip takes you to the beautiful Hestnes where open sea views and beautiful hiking trails are an excellent extension of a cycling trip. The stretch starts as a sidewalk along FV44 towards Sokndal.

In the far south of Rogaland you will find an area with such a unique geology that we have been recognised by UNESCO. Here you walk on the same rock as on the moon; Anorthosite. Astronauts and scientists from NASA have even visited the area to prepare for taking rock samples on the moon!

Access: follow road FV502 from Egersund to Eigerøy. Then follow the signs leading to Ytstebrød.

Cycling along the Nordsjøveien from Egersund to Hellvik is a wonderful trip, which spans 12 kilometres on a well-prepared hiking/gravel road. There are many great checkpoints and picnic areas along the way.

The goal of this trip is definitely worth the effort. The beach Skadbergsand is one of the best places in Egersund to enjoy swimming. Little can be better than a fresh breeze by the sea on a nice summer day. You will appreciate that the refreshing swim that much more after 15 km of cycling. The route goes mainly along paved roads with several stretches of cycling paths.

This nice round trip is suitable for families as there are cycling trails in most of the places. From the centre of Egersund, follow FV44 to Tengs. Here, you can stop for a round of mini golf or ice cream at Kosen. At the intersection of Jærveien and Tengsareidveien, turn to the right and then follow the first exit on the right onto Vingårdsveien.

There are many great checkpoints and picnic areas along the way. If it's too long to ride back and forth, a great alternative is to turn around by Maurholen (an old train station with waffle sales in the summer and a beautiful outdoor area) or take the train one way.

Did you know that you can rent a bike at the Tourist office in Egersund? It costs only NOK 250,- per day and can be paid with cash or Vipps.
