Those who choose to go on the trip to Storaberget will see both older and newer cultural monuments along the way. Well up at the top, a magnificent view opens up in all directions. In good weather, you can see not only Riskalandet and the lakes Lutsivassdraget, but also far out to the sea and the Ryfylkeheiene moors. Storaberget offers challenges and experiences for both large and small hikers.

If you want to frolic in the water, they have fishing equipment, kayaks and canoes. If you lack clothing for the mountain hike or a map and compass, they also rent out this type of equipment.

SkogSprett Klatrepark is a unique climbing park located in beautiful Melsheia in Sandnes. SkogSprett offers three different activities: a net park for even small children, a state-of-the-art climbing park and SUP courses.

Skjævelandbrua bridge is a beautiful, old stone bridge from 1853. If you take a small detour from the main road, you will get to se this piece of cultural history.

Øglændsparken is one of two parks in the old part of Sandnes city centre. The second is the neighbouring park, Kirkeparken.

Cycling

This route is possibly one of the country's nicest commuters routes, it is almost completely flat, and goes parallel to the railroad partly along the ocean. The route goes through green areas, forest areas where there are plenty of places to stop, along beaches, swimming spots and playgrounds.

Architecture and heritage

Sandnes church is a neogothic red brick church designed by the architect H. S. Eckhoff in 1882. Eckhoff's church portrays a typical style choice of the time.

Cycling

The bike route from Lurastø is relatively easy, it partly follows the shoreline, and partly it goes through forests, green areas and parks. It is a peaceful and safe alternative to Gamleveien, west of the railroad tracks.
