Ruins of a fortress. The fortress is mentioned in Snorre's saga literature, assumably, the Viking king Kjotve the rich sought refuge there after losing the battle against Harald Fairhair at Hafrsfjord.

Jæren beaches from Vigdel to Bore beach. The beaches are a fantastic place to walk and take in the wide horizons and endless sea. Most of the beaches are sand beaches with sand dunes, although there are also a few pebbled beaches.

Start your walk at Risnes, heading south along the sea toward the old ship's cottage (Loshytta). Continue to Monsenhuset (the house of Monsen) and the Hummeren Hotel.

Erling Skjalgsson monument is sited near the Ruinkirken. The monument was erected in memory of Erling Skjalgsson (975-1028), Solas most famous 'son'.

Sola ruinkyrkje is a rebuilt medieval church. The church was until the 19th century an important sailing mark for the Jæren coastline.

Hålandsvatnet spans Stavanger and Randaberg municipalities. A trail circles the lake, attracting natives and visitors alike to relaxing walks. The trail is 7.1 km long, all of which is well lit so that it can also be enjoyed in the evenings. There is a lean-to shelter near the lake.

The Aviation History Museum (Flyhistorisk Museum Sola) is located close to Stavanger Airport. Here you will see an impressive and unique collection of aeroplanes, helicopters and objects.
