Idyllic island of Kvitsøy lies far out on the fjord between Haugesund and Stavanger. It is the smallest of Ryfylke's municipalities. The island is home to one of Ryfylkemuseets finest museum sites, Kvitsøy Hummermuseet.

A varied and slightly hilly cycle route southwest of Stavanger city centre. You pass through residential areas, then through forest, after a while along the sea, and in the end along a peaceful hiking path at Madla.

Stavanger, the Norwegian street art capital of Norway! Paul Harfleet is a London-based artist, writer and designer who has been planting pansies, a garden flower that shares its name with a homophobic slur, at sites of homophobic abuse for 15 years.

Ålgård
The Veveriet was built to house weaving looms, that were driven by power from the river next to it. It is an important building in the town's textile heritage. Today the building is a cultural centre, housing the town's library, and culture facilities. It is also the local tourist information point.

Norway's toughest climbing wall is at Sørmarka Arena. Beginners and experts will be stretched at our 'monsterwall' which is 17m high and has about 1000 m² of climbing surfaces. The wall has a great variety of angles and steepness allowing the wall to cater to all levels of climbers. If you have a Brattkort you can climb with your partner when you like, or if you have a sikringskort you can climb on toprope when our instructors are present. Beginners can try our offer 'prøv å klatre' or 'try climbing' where no experience or equipment is needed. Stavanger
Popular bathing area including a beach, barbecue facilities and play area for children. Kiosk open on warm days. It is part of the hiking area near Gandsfjorden. Access from Østre Ring.
Mountain hikes and walks
Tau
From the car park at Ryfast, the world's longest underwater tunnel, you can easily get to the bathing areas Strandastøa and Kuvigå in Strand municipality.
Cycling
Egersund
This roundtrip is 35 km long and a bit more challenging. One of the first sections of the trip is rather steep and the total elevation is 700 metres. The route is mainly covered in asphalt but includes a minor section of gravel road.
